It's been just over a year since we've moved in, and we are enjoying the house. Here are some views from the house.
Stormy night taken from the front yard looking at lighting in the West valley.
View of Downtown Phoenix from the back yard after a rainy day.
We had a little visitor checking out our front yard.
Sunset view from the Den courtyard.
We could see the rising warm water vapor coming from the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Plant Cooling Towers, located about 60 miles toward the west. It made for a lovely sunset.

Carpet and Wood Floors Installed
The workers installed the carpet and finished the wood floors this week. Now we have a long Thanksgiving weekend before the drywall company comes out, next week, to repair the remaining scrapes and dings. Then the final paint, Blinds, Drapes, Cleanup, Tile sealing, and final punch list will occur. Soon after that we will be moving in!

Electricity Turned On and Wood Floors
After several weeks of what seemed like a run-around from the city, we passed our final inspection! That allowed us to get electricity pulled to the meter and turned on. With electric turned on, we started up the Air Conditioner units and brought in the wood for the floors to acclimate to the house. The installers began putting down the floor yesterday. Things are finally starting to come together.

Re-Vegetation Complete
Part of the requirements for getting the CofO (Certificate of Occupancy) was to re-vegetate all the areas of the construction site that we disturbed and also vegetate some of the areas that weren't disturbed. This task is now complete, and we expect the CofO to be issued early next week. That will allow us to pull electrical power to the house and then complete the final phase of turning on the HVAC, bringing in the wood floors, and completing the punch list.

... And The Kitchen Sink
Some of our fans asked us to post a photo of the Kitchen sink. So here it is. Ignore all the cardboard and stuff over the island. We are keeping cardboard there to prevent damage from the workers, who tend to lay their tools and other stuff on the island.
I also climbed up the hill and took a couple pictures of the outside of the house from an elevated perspective. The sky was so clear and beautiful out!

More House Progress
The installers finished putting the appliances into the kitchen. And the alarm company installed the alarm. When I stopped by the house this evening, the sun was setting and made the colors so vivid on the fresh paint. Looking forward to the final completion.

House at Night
George and I visited the house last night after a lovely dinner. The electricity isn't turned on yet, so the house was nearly pitch black inside and around. Only the city lights (and our cell phones) provided enough illumination to take a long exposure. That ghostly image in the courtyard is George with his cell phone looking around while I took the long exposure.
